I have a small private practice so my services are limited and are often over-subscribed. Please check my Availability page for current information.
To find out more detail about me and my professional experiences, see the About Me section on this website. To summarise however, I have worked as a therapist for nearly 30 years, across a range of different settings (child and family services, adult mental health, schools, universities and privately), and with a whole range of clients, of all ages, differently cultural backgrounds and gender identities.
I have a particular interest and specialism in men’s mental health, and have worked with thousands of male clients, of all ages, over the years, as well as having published in this area. I believe that men can get a great deal out of therapy given the right sort of support to do so.
I have experience of working with a range of problems, and have particular experience in a number of areas, including:
- Men’s mental health
- Depression
- Anxiety (including social anxiety, health anxiety and OCD, for example)
- Self-esteem
- Sexuality and sexual identity
- Loss and bereavement
- Body image issues
- Relationship problems (including issues to do with sexual relationships)
- Self-injury
- Suicidal thoughts
- Confidence
- Trauma
- Transitions and change
If you are interested in finding out more about therapy with me, then do contact me and we can arrange a 15-minute telephone or online consultation in the first instance before booking a first session. I see people online via Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams or FaceTime. If you meet for a first appointment, I will send you a link to complete a short therapy registration form prior to your appointment.
My fee for therapy is £50 for each session, payable in advance
Please note, I have very limited availablity for private therapy. If I do not have space when you contact me, I will help you find another therapist or, if you prefer, I hold a short waiting list for people specifically wanting to see me.
I work in accordance with the data protection legislation and relevant regulations and am registered with the Information Commissioner‘s Office (ICO). I will discuss the details of how I manage any personal data before we commence any counselling together.
